What is and how does the Law of Attraction work?

The Law of attraction stipulates that all that is similar will be attracted to each other. Sayings like “birds of a feather flock together”, and “like father like son” seem to reflect the workings of this law.

For the human spirit, there is an inherent ability to attract things just as a magnet will attract metals. This Law of Nature ensures that man will not attract all sorts of things to itself in a wild confusion. To maintain strict order, this Law ensures that only what is similar to the nature of the human spirit is attracted to it.

In this, our thoughts, words, actions and even our aspirations play a very important part. So a person who lives in a particular state of mind will attract a similar reality to himself. For example a person who lives in perpetual fear of attack by enemies seen and unseen will eventually experience harassment in reality. In some cases this can lead to depression and serious mental illness!

One can on the other hand cooperate with the workings of this Law. For example, if you are a new business owner just starting out in your business and you desire that only those who are punctual and honest are those you require in that business- you start off by being punctual yourself. Pay yourself a salary and do not take company money anyhow. You will find that only those who have the same work style like you will be attracted to join you in the business. If you wish for a good spouse (wife/husband) you start out by becoming a better human being first and only a person that complements you will be attracted to you.

On a lighter note I tell my friends that if they want to conduct a quick experiment of this Law, all they need do is to invite about 40 people to a party. After a while during the party, they will find that people will seat in groups that depict their interests. People who work in the same place will move close to each other, those who enjoy talking about football will come together, and the beer drinkers will form separate circles! You can work with this Law to change an undesired circumstance. For example, where a man decides that he is tired of alcohol abuse, he can start by forsaking the company of his drunkard friends and cultivate better friends. With this, his own lifestyle will change gradually in accordance with the measure of his inner change.

So, like will always attract like. And that is why this saying is true: show me your friends and I will tell you who you are!

How can one deal with financial and personal problems?

In order to answer this question,we need to understand the Laws of Creation. These Laws of Creation include the Law of Sowing and Reaping. This Law affect us and gives back to us in accordance with our actions which include our thoughts, words and deeds. We see in Nature that a grain of rice will not produce yams. In the same way, our thoughts, words and deeds also produce effects which are similar to our initial actions.

What we call financial and personal problems, therefore, are the result of former decisions and actions in this earth life or in former ones. Just as a grain of rice produce more rice, our thoughts words and deeds are seeds that bring back to us a similar harvest. Thus hatred to a fellow human being cannot produce a peaceful relationship.

Before we can be released from the effect of our previous actions, we have to go through the present experiences with the right attitude. We must accept and welcome these experiences and see them as necessary for our spiritual progress. So, the experiences you refer to as problems also mercifully point you to your freedom!

Therefore, set to work immediately to create for yourself a future of inner peace. You can do this by sowing seeds which are similar to the future of your aspirations. For example, be fair to all those you come across. If you are an employer, pay fair wages. If you are employed, do not cheat on your employer but give good service to merit your pay. Consider your natural talents and strive to develop and use them for yourself and for the benefit of others. Offer voluntary service to organisations that require it and thereby gain necessary experience that you can use later in gainful employment. And when you do have money, avoid frivolities and invest for the future. Pay those you owe, and do not cause harm to those who trust you.

With these actions you will be sowing good seeds which will naturally produce for you sooner or later a future harvest of financial well-being. This holds true unless the person in question actually needs to go through this present earth life in poverty for his spiritual benefit. As regards your personal problems, because of your decision to do only what is good, you will be helped. These problems will be made easy for you to overcome and you become free!

Remember this: “Evil cannot approach unless you call it! As you wish it, so will it happen to you!”

Can a person be possessed by a water spirit or by a demon?

A human being cannot be possessed by “water spirit” or even by a demon at all!

The elemental or nature beings that work with water are animistic in nature and therefore are not spirits although in addition to their animistic core, they have a little of the spiritual. The elemental beings have been active on earth long before man set foot on it for the first time. Without their participation there would be no mountains, meadows, rivers, lakes and seas. Since these faithful servants in Nature work selflessly in the Will of God, they can neither be malicious nor do evil. Only men have imputed such things to them.

Therefore, nature beings do not take possession of human beings. This is because the core of the human being is spirit which is different from that of the animistic beings. Apart from the animistic beings already mentioned, there are demons which are not the creatures of the Most High. The Lord in His inestimable Love cannot create the ugly entities called demons. Such entities are the handiwork of men alone. They use their spiritual decisions and thoughts to form demons and phantoms which are really dangerous to themselves and their fellow human beings. Yet, there is no question of possession.

Possession only occurs when another evil and dark human spirit in the beyond takes possession of another person’s body by pushing the original owner aside. The spirit that can be pushed aside in this way must have been careless, indolent spiritually or has been dallying with those in the beyond. People who are possessed can be cured easily and quickly through the help of someone called for it.

Be that as it may, neither nature beings nor demons can push aside the human spirit which is a necessary condition for possession.

However, the human being can be demoniacally influenced which is a different thing. Such a person has opened herself to this evil influence. For this reason a cure is made very difficult. This condition is also much more dangerous to man himself and for his surroundings because he acts in full consciousness. Such a person needs to make an inner change. The decision to turn to that which is good and pure must come from within the person under demonic influence. This is way that help can reach them.

How do I recognise the true voice of the spirit when it speaks? Is the voice the same as that of the Guardian Angel?

In order to recognise the voice of the spirit, you need to understand how the human spirit speaks. The spirit speaks in pictures! When it speaks, the spirit makes an impression on the back brain. The back brain takes these impressions like a photographic plate and forms with it a picture without words. This picture is then passed on to the frontal brain which then condenses the pictures into thoughts, words and deeds. This is the normal way, but through the fall of man, this correct process has been reversed by man. Instead of the frontal brain taking directions from the back brain as directed by the spirit, the frontal brain was elevated to be the decision maker thus cutting off the spirit!

The pictures transmitted by the spirit as mentioned earlier is what people refer to when they say that “the first impression is always right”. Let me give you an example. You meet a person for the first time and you get an impression or inner sensing to be careful. Later, you begin to look at the smart way the man is dressed and the car he drove to attend the meeting you are having. The first impression is brushed aside through the judgement of the frontal brain the source of our intellect. You deal with him and you suffer a big loss. In this example, you have failed to heed the first impression from your spirit but allowed your intellect to mislead you through the deceptive nature of the other person.

The intuition which is connected with the spiritual immediately recognised the true nature of the other person and did not allow itself to be deceived. It is absolutely impossible for the intuition to make mistakes. Only the intellect leads man astray! So man ought to listen to his “inner voice” which is his intuition and the spiritual part of man.

On the question of guardian angel, let us understand that the spirit can also perceive the advice from our helpers in the beyond. These helpers are those already in the beyond but who have faults similar to ours. They serve as helpers so that they can help us do better than they did whilst they were here. This way, they redeem a lot and do not need to be incarnated on earth for that purpose.

These helpers speak through what we call our conscience. Conscience is indeed a combination of our inner voice and the voices of our helpers and friends in the beyond! Therefore let us always keep our thoughts pure and listen within.

Will the world come to an end?

The End-Time spoken about in many prophecies does not refer to the end of the world but to the end of a great epoch. The scriptural accounts speak of the “close of the age”. After this close of the age begins a New Time, in which the Kingdom of God is to be established on earth: the Thousand-year Kingdom of Peace. The transition period from the Old to the New Time is formed by the period of the World Judgment or the Day of Reckoning alluded to severally by the Prophets. This period will be a time of troublesome cleansing of the evils of the past.

Man came to this earth unconscious from the Spiritual Kingdom, his place of origin, with the task of learning and living according to God’s Will. He is meant to return to there fully conscious after his allotted period of learning here and to continue to live in all eternity according to God’s Will. Sadly, man fell and spent the time granted for his development living in accordance with his own desires and in wickedness.

The on-going World Judgement and the Great Purification had to come about because we chose not to fulfil our purpose of coming to this earth. We also chose to misinterpret all the warnings given by the prophets like Zoroaster, Krishna, Buddha, Moses, Mohammed and even those by the Son of God Himself.

Now it is payback time! Judgement for many years of wilful stubbornness of mankind! This manifests in weather catastrophes, what men call natural disasters, political unrests, wars, economic failures which happen now with great intensity and in quick successions. These events relate to countries, organizations, families and individuals.

These happenings shake the earth as if it is about to perish but it is the Great Purification, the Cleansing willed by God that is at work. What we need to do at this momentous hour is to make up for what has been neglected. To seek to know what is right and true and to live in accordance with it with all our strength. As a help for this, in the midst of the great tribulation and at the time when the noise of the false prophets is loudest the Word of Truth will ring out for all those who truly long for God.

Many painful things have already happened and more horrors are to come as the world and all its inhabitants are shaken to their depths. But only he will be saved who does not assume he is already saved but who in all humility seeks the Truth, lives in the Truth while looking up obediently to the Most High at all times for guidance.

Why are reincarnations necessary?

In answering this question, we need to first understand the earth is given to us by the Almighty Father as a school. Let us call it “the school of life”. We are meant to develop in it and mature. On attaining the necessary maturity we are assured of ascent to the Eternal Gardens from where we came to the earth in the first place.

However, to attain this maturity, man needs more than one earth life. Man returns to the earth as often as necessary. But we return as human beings, not as plants or animals as these are of a different species from us. To attain the required maturity, we need to work and strive a little upwards in each life. Such development is the very purpose of every life on earth!

Through reincarnations the opportunities are presented to each of us to redeem the mistakes of past earth lives. This is another grace of God bestowed upon men. Even if men had remained inwardly good, they would still have to come to the earth repeatedly in order to mature but certainly not as often as has become necessary after the fall of man.

Reincarnation which many people deny today is a lawful happening in Creation that takes place day in day out across the globe!

Let me give an example. Some decades ago Therese Neumann lived in a part of Europe. At a point in her life she developed a phenomenon called stigmata. This means that she bore on her body wound marks similar to those borne by Jesus during His crucifixion. The wounds on the lady bleeds and she was sometimes drenched in her own blood while she lay on her bed in agony. The pains were aggravated when medicaments are applied to the wounds. Many people came from far and wide on pilgrimage to where she stayed. At times she heared in spirit talk about the crucifixion in dialects of the language of that time to the amazement of language experts.

When asked about this matter, the Author of the Grail Message made it clear that the soul concerned had been on earth before. She was in the past one of those that reviled Christ as He suffered on the cross. She had been permitted to come to the earth this time to settle accounts. Through reincarnation this soul was given another opportunity to recognize her faults and to ask for forgiveness, this being the only way to deliverance!

Therefore, no man lives only once on earth! We come again and again, until we have learned to be such that can be re admitted back to Paradise. That is the key to the understanding of all earth life!

How the Law of Sowing and Reaping works

The effect of the Law of Sowing and Reaping is that man must reap what he has once sown, unconditionally. No one can possibly reap or pay for what has been sown by someone else.

Examples abound. The effect of this Law is visible in nature as pineapples can only grow from seeds of pineapple. This Law also applies without fail to man’s thoughts, words and deeds. Each one of these constitutes seeds that we sow every minute and are bound to produce a harvest of a similar kind. So when we utter words of kindness we reap kindness in return. I have experienced it many times when someone who normally is difficult will say to me: well- because of the sober way you have made your request, speaking to me kindly, I will assist you.

In the same way, a tyrant who perpetrates acts of wickedness against his people will reap hatred, revolts, riots and multiple rebellions from the people. These may eventually swallow up such a wicked ruler. In recent months we have seen this happen in many Arab countries.

The point in time at which the effect will take place is irrelevant but the reaping of the fruits of our sowing happens at some time, at the specified hour, in this world or the beyond or in yet another earth life.

Scientists who are familiar with this Law speak of it by reference to the fundamental law that force always generates a counteracting force. They say further that an effect without a counter-effect is not conceivable at all. So if we strike a hammer on a hard object then the hammer will bounce back as a consequence of the hardness of the target object. If however the hammer is softer than the object, the hammer will get distorted or dented at the point of impact.

Similarly, there is an effect for every movement of our thoughts, words and action. In all simplicity – what a man sows he will reap many times over.

This Law is to be loved by those who sow good seeds, who keep their thoughts pure, do not think ill of others, who love their neighbour, give to others with their being, offer words of peace and kind advice to others and who will not betray or wilfully harm others. These ones shall reap blessings, peace and happiness. However, those who sow evil seeds need to fear this Law, for even if they are the cleverest person in the whole world the all embracing arms of the Law of Sowing & Reaping will reach them and ensure that they take in full measure the fruits of their works.

What does it mean to have other gods?

This question seeks an explanation of the very first of the Ten Commandments of God which says: “I am the Lord thy God! Thou shalt have no other gods but me!”

An easy going person may think that this Commandment is directed at idol worshippers, demon-worshippers and other similarly misguided ones. He pitifully thinks of these people without a thought that perhaps he is also an offender.

Let us consider: for many of us, material achievements, money, fame, power, and position means everything. Some place their spouse, children and family above all else for whom they can make any sacrifice. For some it is their health and fitness, for others it can be earthly pleasures. When we look deeply and closely at all of these, the persons in question actually love none other but themselves. This of course is idolatry pure and simple!

The Commandment strictly forbids and warns against it. And this is for our benefit! A person who in defiance of this Commandment places priorities on the things mentioned earlier can be likened unto a man who puts all his treasures on earth. When he passes on, he will remain bound to this earth instead of ascending to Paradise our eternal home. This is because all his thoughts and aspirations are focused on things which are on earth. He stands in danger of remaining earthbound and being swept along into the inevitable disintegration of all material substance which do not last forever but must disintegrate at a point in order to be formed anew. The human soul who is caught in this disintegration of matter will however suffer spiritual death and its name will be erased from the Book of Life!

By obeying this Commandment we are saved from this terrible fate! It is therefore necessary for man to regard this Commandment as a lifeline! Sadly man is easily carried away by many earthly matters which become a propensity that enslaves him. Whatever this earthly matter may be, once it takes the prime of place above the love for the Most High, it becomes man’s golden calf, a false deity or idol.

We obey this Commandment however, when we put God above all else not just in our imagination or mere words but deep in our hearts and soul in reverential love and pure devotion. This means abiding with the Truth and living accordingly. We thereby lay our treasures in heaven which is eternal as opposed to laying up treasures upon this transient earth. When we live our life this way, on leaving the flesh, we will be empowered to ascend to Paradise, the Kingdom of Heaven.

What is the meaning of the parable of the wise and foolish virgins given by Christ Jesus?

This parable likened the kingdom of heaven to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were wise, and five were foolish. The foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. The bridegroom tarried and when he arrived at midnight, only those with oil in their lamps were ready to go with him.

This parable actually refers to the Last Judgment. The bridegroom is the Son of Man proclaimed by Christ. He comes by night, thus at a time when most do not expect and He will not be recognized by most men. One part of mankind (five foolish virgins) will pass by the Truth proclaimed by Him. Reason: they are too indolent to think and too lazy to exercise the necessary care and attention to keep in constant order and readiness the little lamp left to them by the Creator, i.e., their ability to examine and illuminate. They may therefore miss the hour when the Word of Truth comes to them. The other part of mankind (five wise virgins) will recognize the Son of Man and receive His Divine Word, because they continually replenished the oil in their lamps. This means they ensured that their spiritual faculties are ready and therefore can discern the Truth brought to them. So, by using the tools given to them in accordance with Divine Ordinance and with the purity of their faith they were able to take part in the marriage of the bridegroom, that is, in the New Covenant which the Son of Man makes with mankind, through which the gate to Paradise is opened for them.

Please remember the prophecies of the end times that tells us that hand in hand with tribulations, many false prophets and teachers will appear. But bear in mind that it has also been foretold that it is at this same period that the Real One, the Bridegroom will come! All the happenings around us today are pointers that we are actually standing at this momentous period! This parable therefore warns us to remain vigilant, avoiding the comfort that comes with the thought that we already have it all. If we act on this parable inwardly, we will not be confused by the antics of the numerous sweet tongue prosperity preachers and their promises of earthly comfort and illusory miracles.

We should remain ever watchful so that when the Voice of the One sent forth by God reaches us we will be able to heed His Call.

What can we learn from the two criminals that were crucified along with Jesus?

Most people are familiar with the biblical account of two criminals crucified along with Christ. One said to Christ, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” The other reprimanded him with the words: “Do you not fear God? ...we are receiving the due reward of our deeds, but Jesus has done nothing wrong.” This penitent thief then pleaded: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom”.

We can liken the 2 thieves to the two types of believers on earth today.
Just like the unrepentant thief, a part of present day believers do not have the true faith. Such believers hold that Jesus can arbitrarily grant them “unmerited favour”. What they demand from their Saviour are arbitrary acts they call “miracles”. They expect to be delivered suddenly from all kinds of earthly difficulties which they themselves often times bring about through their stubbornness and reckless behaviour. These types of believers always approach the Most High with a shopping list whenever they pray to Him. Their faith is all about what they can get from the Lord in the material sense! Some have even stepped over all boundaries by attempting to “command” their Creator, asking Him to prove Himself by doing this or that for them! These attitudes remind one of the insults of the foolish thief who said “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us”. It is just like saying: “if you don’t save us, then you are not the Christ.”

The repentant thief on the other hand (epitomising the attitude of a true believer) recognised humbly that he was in the wrong and was paying for his wrongful behaviour. He did not demand any quick fix to his problem like the other thief. Instead, he pleaded for forgiveness and expressed a yearning for the Heavenly Kingdom. He reminds us of one of the admonitions of Jesus that we seek first the Kingdom of Heaven. Similarly, true believers recognising that they are responsible for their thoughts words and deeds tread the way of repentance and continue in their resolve to do only what accords with the Will of God.

In the end, the foolish thief got nothing while Jesus assured the penitent thief of a place in paradise! So, the decision is ours. There is the path of those who make self serving earthly demands and expect arbitrary actions from the Creator. There is also the path of repentance that pleads humbly for God's forgiveness and strength for spiritual ascent. My wish is that we choose the path of repentance which leads to salvation and redemption.

What is the meaning of the Parable of the wicked tenants given by Jesus?

“Without exception every Bringer of Truth, whether great or small has had to suffer mockery and scorn, persecution and attack by his dear fellow-men, who in just the same way today always like to consider themselves too clever and too wise to accept the explanations of the Will of their Creator from His Messengers, especially since these Messengers never in fact issued from any of mankind’s great institutions of learning!”

And so it was that even when the Love of the Almighty inclined to this earth in Jesus, mankind did not welcome Him. Despite all the good He did, He remained an annoyance to them and was totally rejected. By hating Jesus mankind sided with the Antichrist and it is a proof of their enmity to the Father Who sent Christ. The Son of God sums all these up when He spoke of the master who sent out his servants to collect what was due to him from his tenants. But instead of receiving the rents the servants were scoffed and beaten before they were scornfully sent back empty handed!

When this parable is pointed out today, men try to gloss over it by calling it a mere parable! They prefer to believe that the main mission of Christ to the earth was to come and suffer and die for their sins and that it is a distinction conferred by God on His Messengers if they have to suffer in this manner, instead of regarding it as a crime on the part of mankind which is not willed by God!

And as if to negate this position and to warn the people of the dire consequences of their decision to reject Jesus as their Lord, the account from the Bible tells us that the master later sent his beloved son thinking that the tenants will respect him. In the parable we were not told that the master expects that his son will be killed. Instead, he sent his son in the hope that the tenants will listen to him! Instead of this, the wicked tenants killed him. Subsequently, the master destroys the tenants and gives the vineyard to others. What this means in reality, however is that with the rejection and murder of Jesus, mankind became burdened with a terrible fate which is now being experienced in the World Judgement! The old covenant was annulled and now only those who pledge to serve the Almighty by living in accordance with the Truth will be partakers of the New Covenant with the Son of Man.

Is homosexuality a natural phenomenon?

Some people claim that they are born as homosexuals. Some countries have promulgated laws to permit homosexual marriages and some churches have permitted same in their fold.

But is homosexuality a natural phenomenon? The answer is a definite NO. A number of things can give rise to this unnatural state. Firstly, some have wilfully surrendered to Lucifer to the extent that they fall to levels far below that of the animal. So, they act in the most shameless of ways.

Secondly, it must be noted that mankind is not just the physical body. The inner core is spirit. The type of activity the spirit chooses on its very first incarnation into this world determines the outward cloak it gets. For those who work in a delicate and quiet manner, they feature as females and those whose activities are more coarse and energetic are incarnated in male forms.

But the form of the body can be changed as soon as the indwelling spirit changes its activity. This change does not happen immediately but happens in later incarnations. This is however unnatural and comes about due to a distortion of the souls involved. It is common these days to hear some women say: "it is a man's world. If I have to come to this world again, I will be a man!" If they persist, they are in danger of becoming distorted and may actually be forced later to live upon this earth in a male body!

Therefore, we see today a person who on the outward has a female form but the dweller inside is a weak/distorted male spirit who in his former lives has deviated too much from the pure male thinking and activity! The converse is also true in that we see a person who on the outward has a male form but the operating entity within is a distorted female spirit. It may happen that the distorted man who now walks the earth in a female body does not want to be with men but seeks companionship with women. So, on the surface it appears as if two females are attracted but in reality it is a distorted man in female cloak getting close to a woman. The same goes for the distorted woman who now parading as a man is drawn to men and it will appear as if two men are getting together.

In conclusion, those who are involved in homosexuality through their wilful misconduct and those living as distorted souls will learn through painful experiences. The way open for them is to repent of their stubbornness and redirect themselves to the right path lest they become eternally lost!

Is there such a thing as a perfect mate and is it possible to be in love with 2 persons at the same time?

Already at birth every human being brings along certain qualities which can be further developed through working together with others with matching qualities. These matching qualities are not identical but they complement each other and in completing each other they bring about the full value of the various qualities. So, when such persons that so complement each other get together in marriage it can be said they are suited for each other. They will live in harmony and the happiness and permanence of their marriage is assured from the very start. Such is the marriage which has been made in heaven!

In order to find this very special person with whom one can enter into a harmonious marriage, one needs to exercise the necessary seriousness, keeping eyes, ears and heart open and above all giving up all those conditions which have so far been demanded for a marriage. Mercifully for each person there are several others who possess the qualities to complement each other and so with care and looking up to the Will of God it is not necessary that one looks for too long to find that ideal match.
It must be noted however that working together and having the same high aims are indispensable for a sound marriage. I speak here of having as goal the spiritual development of the people in love and not merely coming together to start a joint rat race to acquire earthly wealth with a life of comfort as the crown of all the efforts.

We now address the second part of the question. Apart from being a result of lustful adventures, one may put oneself in such position if after mutual commitments before or after marriage, the partners continue looking around selfishly. Having found that person with complementing qualities, each must exercise necessary care and restraint.

Remember that there are several others with matching qualities as we mentioned earlier. So, if care is not taken, on meeting one of such, the careless wanderer may find himself or herself in the very awkward position of being entangled with more than one person! With such a happening however, three people might get hurt and afflicted with serious inner conflict. The person who started the dangerous adventure should blame his/her careless behaviour for bringing this about. Each person in a harmonious relationship should therefore remain faithful. This is how to ensure that no one does anything that will harm or later oppress the other. The reward for this is inner peace and happiness!

Post Script.

I must admit that it is an uphill task to just stick to the person beside you. There are a few hints however which we all can use.

1. Think of the result of the indiscretion. The harm to more than one person (sometimes indelible damage). Too many issues to deal with already in this world and not wishing to add more! Love life, be like a child, and don’t court trouble. Know your limits and don’t cross your boundaries.

2. We must realize that being alert is an everyday job. A bird can land on your head but cannot stay there unless you allow it stay! So, temptations can come but will only overwhelm us if we allow it to happen that way. If despite all caution, we fall, let us get up briskly and move on resolving to be better at it going forward. Not giving up but learning from each fall.

3. Look upwards in prayer for help. Remember the admonition to watch and pray.

We all shall succeed!

The Abraham & Isaac story

On Sunday 20 February 2011, I sent out the following question to a small group. Please find below the feedback I got. I have deliberately left out the names of the commentators for obvious reasons.

First the question:

Could the story that Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son refer to physically killing Isaac? Just food for thought. I'd appreciate your insights.

Now the answers:

1. I believe!

2. Well, so far I’ve seen the Abraham-Isaac story as mainly to show his implicit trust and obedience to The Almighty. It is not likely that The Almighty would demand human sacrifice.

3. Adam and Eve did not eat an apple and Abram saw no ram.

4. Obviously no. Not physical. The Lord would never ask such of anyone.

5. Hello Sola. It is a beautiful allegorical illustration of Test of Faith. The story went further to show how Abraham was shown the ram as the alternative for such an act! The case of serpent and apple in the Garden of Eden is also another spiritual illustration although for different situation. From what we know of the Lord in His Commandment through Moses, He will never permit or even demand such physical sacrifice. Thank you for sharing.

6. Who asked Abraham to offer the sacrifice? Certainly not the Almighty. Was it folk tale or reality? Methinks those are pertinent questions!

7. It was an ethereal experience for Abraham- not earthly!

What does the Cross represent?

The sign of the cross, represented in its simplest form by a crossing of two lines at right angles, has been known to man before the introduction of Christianity. It goes back to a very remote period of human civilization.

There are different types and shapes of crosses. The type of cross used for torturing Jesus the Son of God many years ago for instance was the one used for executing offenders by the Roman authorities at that time. This cross of suffering remains an executioner’s tool and has nothing to do with the redemption of mankind.

The real Cross of Redemption is an equal armed cross. It is the sign and the living form of Divine Truth! The Cross of Truth stood behind Jesus radiantly during His life on earth. It clung to Him inwardly and outwardly in a living form because He was a Bringer of Divine Truth and came from the Truth. Even some of us have seen paintings that show the Son of God with the equal armed Cross shining around His head. Where this Radiant Cross is, there also is Truth, since the Cross and the Truth are one.

Furthermore, since man can only be saved and come to know about his Creator through the Truth, it follows that the Cross of Truth is also the Cross of Redemption. Truth comes from God, His Holy Word is Truth and if we adhere to this Word of God or this Truth, we will be redeemed out of our present derangement and error. The Truth frees us from the shackles of sin and leads us back to our Creator. Our salvation and redemption therefore lies solely in our accepting and abiding by the Truth.

For that reason the Son of God told men to take up the Cross and follow Him, which means to accept the Truth and to live accordingly! This simple and clear instruction has been wrongly interpreted to mean that following Christ also implies that we are to embrace suffering and that suffering is part of serving the Almighty. This doctrine of suffering is a fallacy desired neither by God nor the Son of God. In fact, in the scriptures we read words to the effect that Jesus called out to men who are heavy laden to come to him to find rest but not to add to their burden.

What is required from us therefore is to accept the Truth as it issues from Christ and adhere to His Teaching faithfully. We would then have taken up the Cross which will lead us to joy instead of suffering. Ultimately, the way of the Redeeming Cross of Truth leads to our salvation and redemption!

Is it good to be ambitious?

Ambition is the work of the intellect. Here man allows his brain to take the lead and this sets for him earthly goals, sometimes to the exclusion of all else. For men of ambition, no consideration is given to their spiritual lives or their neighbors since nothing else matters but their selfish aims. Such human beings do not consider what truly benefits them spiritually but can sacrifice anything or crush whatever or whoever stands in the path of the achievement of their goals.

This is in contrast to striving for spiritual ascent, refining one’s abilities, uplifting everything in one’s surrounding and seeking the welfare and advancement of mankind generally. To do these, we have to work with our intuition, seek guidance from our Creator and then we will be guided unto the paths we have to tread to reach our lofty goals. This way, no matter what our occupation is on earth, we will ennoble it and give it a wider goal. What will matter to us will not be the amount of money we make, neither will worldly greatness or fame be the motivating factor for our activities but we will be more mindful of the SPIRITUAL QUALITY of our work.

The goals thus set by our intuition can be translated to visible deeds while employing our intellect. So, the spirit leads and sets the goals while the intellect plays a secondary role of executing on earth that which one has perceived intuitively. When we follow this order which is ordained from above, the ensuing activities will bring us joy and give nothing but blessing to all that come in touch with us and our activities. This way we will learn new things each day, become clarified, gain maturity and rise ever higher.
Therefore, for the human spirit, ambition is like striving after the wind! It amounts to VANITY, and gives no spiritual benefit to man who himself is spiritual in his essence. Instead, it leads man to commit all kinds of evil; life seems meaningless; there is no fulfillment and all that ambitious and self seeking human beings experience is general unhappiness prevalent in the world today.

The ever constant longing within us is a gift from God which is not to be directed at temporary earthly achievements. In reality, we are obliged to channel this longing into spiritualizing the work of our hands, by dedicating same to God. By doing this we will in time learn to recognize our path and the purpose of our existence and this will in turn fill us with joy and the greatest happiness a human spirit is able to bear!

How do we explain the presence of a black sheep in a family?

It is a puzzle when we notice that some good parents have among their similarly good children one who strangely turns out to be utterly different from the rest. This offspring will be the one to give the family many sleepless nights and they are often referred to as the black sheep of the family.

There is a Law that the Almighty has placed in His Creation called the Law of Attraction of similar things. This Law ensures that every human spirit is brought to the place where he belongs without mistakes. So, the popular proverbs “Birds of the same feather flock together” and “like father, like son” appears to have been sensed from this Primordial Law. Following from this, one can observe in ones surroundings that people who have similar interests for example a particular sport, lifestyle or social status tend to come together as friends. In families we also see that similar natural talents such as the ability to make music or similar choice of profession are noticeable. It is not the case that these similar characteristics are inherited by children from their parents, but the operation of the aforementioned Law of Attraction brings about the possibility that human spirits who desire to be incarnated on earth are automatically attracted to parents of a similar nature.

Going by what has been said so far, it is to be expected that good parents should naturally attract good children. Yes, this is how it should be. But already for thousands of years mankind by living in the wrong way and in disobedience to God's Commandments have extended their hands to dark spheres where dark human spirits live, making it possible for these fallen ones to incarnate on earth! The effect of this is such that presently, more than half of all men living on earth now do not belong here at all!

Now, when it comes to incarnations, it may well happen that a darker soul can easily take the place which rightly belongs to a good soul since luminous souls must retreat from where the Darkness has gained a firm foothold. In such a case the dark soul has found a link through somebody near the prospective mother, enabling it to push aside the light soul even when mother or father are good. This is the solution to the riddle of the presence of the black sheep sometimes found in good families.

In order to avoid this however, a mother to be needs to be watch and pray, paying careful attention to her thoughts and her immediate surroundings and those with whom she associates. If she acts in this way, a black sheep cannot be attracted.

Can destiny be changed?

Please read this revised version of an earlier post.

Destiny can be changed.

Our activities form our destiny and these include our thoughts words and deeds. Each of these are seeds that we plant every moment and they are nurtured through the workings of the Laws of Creation such that at a definite time we will have to reap what we have sown earlier on as seeds. As an example, a person who nurtures envy in a relationship may not expect to reap happiness from that interaction. On the other hand acts of kindness will bring us a harvest of peace. So, we can only expect results that are similar to the earlier seed. The Law that brings these about is the unchangeable Law of Sowing and Reaping, the Law of Reciprocal Action. This Law speaks of the Justice and Love of the Creator and makes man the architect of his own fate or destiny.

So, good decisions will lead to a good destiny and we can safely conclude that evil deeds will likewise lead to a destiny of similar nature. What then is the way out especially for many who have spent more time sowing seeds that can only bring them multiple harvests of bitter fruits? Repentance and the firm volition for what is good will lead to redemption! First of all, a complete inner change has the effect of putting a stop to the unwholesome habit of acquiring further debts.
The repentant one must not stop at that but must continuously engage only in planting good seeds in thought, word and deed as a sure way of attracting help to strengthen him in his new way of life. A simple way to start is by keeping our thoughts pure. This is a huge task but the rewards are that we will reap peace and be happy. Pure thoughts will naturally lead to pure words and deeds which in turn will lead to bountiful harvest of forgiveness of our past negative actions. The result or harvest of our past activities will come no doubt due to the effect of the Law of Sowing and Reaping, but the sustained resolve to be good also forms a formidable covering and protection for us that prevents the onrushing reciprocal action from having full effect or any effect at all depending on the level of the inner change. This is the way to obtaining forgiveness and attaining to a change of destiny! It goes without saying also that a person who has initially set out on the right road can through willful change to a wrong course alter his destiny negatively.

In conclusion, it is clear that through the working of the Laws of God, man is made the absolute master of his destiny.

How true is the saying: With God all things are possible?

We have treated this topic before, but please read this revised version.

The Almighty is Omnipotent, being the Source of all Power. This Power created, maintains, sustains, heals and develops Creation. In addition, the Lord God is omnipresent and omniscient.

The all powerful and ever living God in His Power and Wisdom also created the Laws that maintain His Creation. These Laws are the expression of His Will. He speaks and manifests to His creatures through these Laws which are perfect and do not change!
Some believers think that the Almighty can do everything and that with His omnipotence He can act arbitrarily. This is not so. Arbitrariness is only an attribute of humans who in their weakness and foolishness try to show off their abilities in this way. The Lord is however perfect and His Laws are the same yesterday, today and forever. They do not change. So the Lord will not for example go contrary to His Laws, or do anything impure, unjust or act out of hatred. Neither will He demand of His creatures abominable practices such as human sacrifice or self punishment.

Many will here mention miracles as proof that God can do anything. They think that miracles are happenings which are impossible and are only brought about by arbitrary acts of the Almighty. This is not so. The fact that they happen shows that miracles are indeed possible and it is only men in their narrow mindedness who think they are not. However miracles such as many believers imagine do not exist. Such people only see the hand of God in things which are outside of the Natural Laws. Such happenings cannot be attributed to the Creator and are impossible anyway. Miracles therefore are natural happenings but the difference with a miracle is that the process which according to earthly or human conceptions should take a longer time occurs with immense rapidity and so appears miraculous by reason of its extraordinary speed.
When during the life of Christ on earth events were recorded which are miraculous, it reveals to us that He acted with Divine Power but still within the Laws of Nature which Jesus proclaimed He had come to fulfill. The fact that Jesus will not do anything contrary to these Laws was displayed when He firmly refused the temptations to turn stones to bread or to jump down from the pinnacle of the Temple. We should not forget that the suggestions to do these arbitrary things came from Lucifer who will not suggest anything which accords with the Will of God.

So, instead of saying “With God all things are possible”, we can safely assert: “With God all things are possible which are in accordance with His irrevocable Laws.”

Why do bad things happen to good people?

This question is usually asked because majority of people will never want to accept that they bear the responsibility for whatever happens to them. Some believe that time and chance determines everything. Clever religious ones will hide under the erroneous belief that the Almighty acts as He wishes, His ways being unexplainable! Easy going ones embrace such beliefs as these require nothing more but blind faith which of course is unsound and wrong.

In answering this question in the Light of Truth, we come face to face with the adamantine Law: “What a man sows he will reap many times over!” Man bears spiritually the responsibility for everything he says and does and this includes his thoughts which ordinarily no other human being can see. It is therefore an erroneous presumption to conclude that a person is good just because we see the activities he shows to the world whereas his innermost thoughts remain hidden from us.

This Law of Sowing and Reaping ensures that each person gets what he deserves without preference or prejudice and any injustice is totally ruled out. However, one of the mistakes so many people make is to believe that all happenings can be accounted for in only one earth-life. If this were true then Justice would naturally require that the combined causes, effects and reactions must occur during the span of one earth-life. When we turn away from this error, we will discover the logic and justice in everything that happens.

What we experience now can be a reaction from former debts and if we go through it with the right attitude, we are released from the debt. Apart from this, obstacles can be put in man’s way to teach and develop him in which case he adds to the means of his spiritual progress or ascent. In either case, these experiences help man to advance and works for his good. Furthermore, some can be born into families with hereditary diseases because through the Law aforementioned, they need such diseases for redemption, for purification or for advancement. In some cases a soul may have volunteered to come to this world for a specific mission to help some particular persons or to engage with some others in some beneficial work for all mankind. Out of his free will the soul accepts in advance all that will happen to it on earth, so there is no question of injustice.

Finally, since the Laws of the Almighty Creator works only in Love and Justice then the answer to this question which is often asked is this: what we see as the adversity of the obviously good people are in fact the reciprocal effects of former decisions which must now strike them!

What is the meaning of the parable of the prodigal son?

The parable of the prodigal son can be summarized as follows: A certain man had two sons. The younger of them asked his father to give him his inheritance which he later wasted through riotous living during his stay in a distant country. He soon became poor and had to work as a caretaker of pigs! After much suffering and nearly perishing with hunger, he came to his senses and decided to go back to his father who subsequently accepted the son back amid great rejoicing!
This Parable like all the other Parables of Jesus the Son of God must be understood not in the earthly but in the spiritual sense.
The prodigal son in this parable represents mankind. Man has his origin in Paradise the Spiritual Realm where he starts as a spirit seed. Paradise is symbolized by the father’s house in the parable. The young man’s journey to a distant country in the parable can be likened to the journey of man as spirit seed from Paradise to the earthly school where he is meant to mature and subsequently go back home to Paradise as a fully matured human spirit.
However, for most spirit seeds the time granted for this necessary schooling is frittered away in vanity, immorality and running after earthly things like the riotous living of the prodigal son. The result of such a way of life is unhappiness, lack of fulfillment and lack of contentment just like the poverty and hunger suffered by the prodigal son in the parable.
It was only after his repentance that the prodigal son’s journey back to his father’s house began. The lesson here is obvious. The parable shows that contrary to the erroneous belief that the guilt of men can be heaped upon the Son of God; the only way mercifully provided by God’s Love for man to obtain the forgiveness of his sins is repentance.
The way of repentance and continuous obedience leads back to the Kingdom of Heaven from where we came to the earth. This time however, we will through the experiences gained on our way, go back fully matured to participate in the joyful activity of other blessed human spirits who already live in Paradise.
Therefore, one of the admonitions in the Grail Message is that we should strive for the ability to enter the Spiritual Realm so that there will be joy over us as already indicated in the parable about the prodigal son!
