AND THE ACTOR DIED

We used to say that actors don’t die in films but I’m talking of real life now. And so the curtain falls for one of the actors I admired most! Sir Roger Moore - the super cool spy 007. Oh, how I admired that secret agent. Maybe if I had the skills… honestly I secretly wished I could be an agent myself, enjoying all the perks of office, riding specially made cars that can turn to an aircraft at the press of a button, and dealing decisively with the bad guys. My dream - perform my tasks as smoothly as James Bond! I like to make my work appear so simple. No sweat must appear even if I must struggle hard to conclude my business or social assignment! Bravely attending and rocking the parties of villains before finally bringing them to justice. Fighting with my well-tailored suit and bow tie on and beating up some crook and still look impeccable afterwards. And Roger Moore in my view did play his ladies’ man roles with some panache; not as a womanizer but as a very honorable and respectful gentleman!

I am aware that my favorite actor played the British secret agent James Bond in seven feature films between 1973 and 1985. I am a proud collector of a James Bond 007 Special Edition set of 20 DVDs. I bought them in 2006 in Abuja. Only two days ago, I was drawn to watch one of them. For me each movie is an experience. I learn courage, how to dare, and keeping hope alive against all odds, adroitness, skillfulness, competence, nimbleness and loads more…

Reports says that the love with which the departed was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone. He left here at 89. I am happy for him. May the paths ahead of him be blessed and may he be open to all the loving help that surround him even at this time!

“FATHER, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.”

In Luke 23:45-46 we read: The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.” Similar words are found in Psalm 31:5- “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have ransomed me, O LORD, God of truth.”

We need to know today that Jesus being a Part of the Almighty Father had a Core which is not spirit! His Core is DIVINE! It is man that bears spirit within. This very important point reveals to us that there is a huge difference between an Envoy of God and the creatures. An Envoy of God cannot be a man! Man may not and should not regard God as the Highest in the Spiritual World to which man belongs. It is therefore not correct to say that God is spirit for God is Divine and not spiritual! Divinity cannot be called spirit. Only spirituality is spirit.

The words “Father, unto Thy Hands I commend My Spirit!” can be understood in the knowledge that the word “Spirit” here refers to the Divine Ray of Jesus on its Return into the Light!  This is similar to the same word when applied in respect of the Part of the Trinity of God Who is known as the Holy Spirit. Spirit in this context refers to a Part of God and not to spirit which is the inner core of man.

With this new perception, we also realise that although Christ was obliged to use the physical body similar to that of men and born in the same way as theirs, His inner Divine Core is what makes all the difference. He wore the cloak similar to the ones worn by men but He was not man because His Core is DIVINE and not spirit which is the core of man.

Jesus left his physical body but he arose with His Divine Part Which was in Him. This Divine Essence did not leave the earth immediately but manifested to His Disciples and close helpers on earth for another forty days before being borne on the Waves of Light back into the Realm of His Father.

All said, let us forever be grateful to the Lord God for sending us His Son so that we might be afforded the Divine Truth through Him and thereby find the path to our salvation and redemption which lies in working victoriously with the Truth!

WE WORK FOR THE CHILDREN!

That is the explanation for the struggles of so many people. They work so hard, make deals, and if they are in a vantage point, they use it or even resort to outright stealing so that they can provide for their children and even grandchildren yet to be born!

Let us free ourselves from this burden. It is absolutely unnecessary. We must consider that child bearing does not mean that you have to deny the child the benefit of finding his own feet early in life. Through earthly birth, parents simply provide a physical body for the spirit of the child which is a tool as he journeys on earth on the path to spiritual maturity which involves knowing the Will of God and making it a deed!

Once the parents have taken care of the child to the point where the child can take care of his own physical body, then anything done beyond that is a gift because the child is really an independent individual who is just a guest of the parents who have implicitly agreed by their voluntary act of love to accept this loved one.

If the parents live only for their children then they have missed the very purpose of their lives: the redemption of past errors, spiritual maturity and salvation. Just as parents have a lot of work to do on themselves, children too  must realise that they are on earth to fulfil their own purpose and must seek to be independent of their parents as soon as possible and not revel in a sense of entitlement that is really non-existent!

LOVE OF THIS WORLD

A well respected friend sent me this poser yesterday.—“A 7yr old Sunday school boy asked his teacher, 1st John 2:15-16 says "do not love the world" but John 3:16 says "for God so loved the world". So why did God love the world and He is preventing us from loving it too? If you were the teacher what would be your answer? Every believer's contribution is required”

Here was my humble contribution:

The Love of the Almighty for the world is the love that that considers only what is of spiritual benefit to the one loved not what indulges him. Such love is severe and not at all near the corrupted and emotional concept of love as men would like to have it.

When however we are warned not to love the world, it means that we have to abide by the first Commandment which says we should have no other gods. Our love should be mainly to the Almighty and His Commandments and we are to avoid undue attachment to anything in this world. This is to our spiritual advantage because whoever is entangled with anything of this world will be encumbered in his spiritual ascent. When such a person leaves the flesh he will be tied to the earth instead of ascending to Heaven! However if we put God first in reverential love and loyalty, then when we leave the flesh, this love for God will draw us up to the Eternal Gardens of our God! That was why we were admonished 2000 years ago to put our treasures in Heaven and not on earth!
