ODE TO IRRESPONSIBILITY…
Adam ate the apple he ought not to eat.
Called to account, he pointed at Eve.
"I did not do it my Lord, Eve did!"
Heaven’s Gate was shut unless they repent.
Eve, why? Will Eve be penitent?
"I did not do it my Lord, the serpent did!"
To Adam and Eve’s descendants the Holy One showed the Way.
But they hated, rejected and murdered the Way!
"We didn’t slay You dear Lord," they insist;
"the prophecies did!"
